Strawberry Swirl

Fluffy, bakery-style rolls with sweet strawberry filling and a glossy strawberry glaze.





✨ Dough Ingredients:




  • 1 packet (2¼ tsp) instant yeast

  • 1 cup warm milk

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • ⅓ cup melted butter

  • 4½ cups all purpose flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp strawberry extract






Strawberry Filling:



  • 1½ cups diced fresh strawberries

  • ½ cup strawberry jam or preserves

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (to thicken)

  • ½ tsp vanilla

  • Optional: ¼ cup brown sugar for extra depth



A thin layer of softened butter spread on the dough before adding the filling.


Cream Cheese Glaze


  • 6 oz cream cheese

  • ¼ cup butter

  • 1½ cups powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 2 tbsp strawberry puree



👩🏽‍🍳 Instructions:



  1. Make Dough


     No need to proof instant yeast separately!


    In a large bowl or stand mixer, whisk together warm milk, sugar, yeast, eggs, and melted butter. Add flour and salt. Mix and knead 8–10 minutes until the dough is smooth, stretchy, and only slightly sticky.


  2. Make Filling


     In a small pot over medium heat, cook strawberries, lemon juice, cornstarch, and vanilla until thickened (5–7 minutes). Let cool completely before spreading.


  3. Roll & Fill


     Roll dough into a 16”x20” rectangle. (Optional: spread a thin layer of softened butter.) Spread cooled strawberry mixture evenly, leaving a ½” border.


  4. Roll & Cut


     Roll up from the long edge. Cut into

    pieces. Roll into swirls. Place into desired baking dish.


  5. Second Rise


     Cover and rise again for 30–45 minutes. Then pour heavy whipping cream over them.


  6. Bake



     Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes or until golden and puffy.


  7. Glaze


     Drizzle with strawberry cream cheese icing while warm.
